Many of us spend our lives bowed down under heavy burdens that are like weighty backpacks. We rationalize this tendency and call it “taking responsibility.”

Para cambiar un hábito, antes tenemos que cambiar nuestras acciones, y por lo tanto nuestros pensamientos. La formación de la mente se ha convertido en una tarea diaria imprescindible, si no queremos que nos domine a nosotros.

¿Qué pasaría si dejáramos de comer? Podríamos durar muchos días con vida, pero no nos sentiríamos bien. ¿Y si dejáramos de limpiar nuestra casa? ¿Cuanta suciedad acumularíamos con el paso de los días…meses… o años?

De la misma manera, necesitamos limpiar la mente de emociones negativas, que no permiten que afloren pensamientos positivos y enriquecedores para nuestra vida. Igual que entrenamos nuestro cuerpo para tener buena salud, entrenar nuestra mente es vital para mantener las emociones bajo control. De lo contrario, estas mismas emociones nos pueden llevar a acabar con todo aquello que hemos construido…con amor, incluso durante toda una vida.

El llamado “estrés”, hoy en día puede ser administrado por hábitos regulares de pensamientos positivos, meditación y deporte diario.

Los pensamientos negativos malgastan nuestra energía.

¿Cuántos de nosotros participamos en actividades que mejoren nuestra vida y fortalezcan nuestra mente hacia pensamientos positivos? ¿Estamos a la espera de tomar acción cuando ya es demasiado tarde? ¿Dilatamos hasta después de haberse detectado alguna dolencia física, a pesar de que, quizá para entonces, nuestro cuerpo ya este demasiado débil para arrancar? ¿Por qué posponemos lo que es urgente?

Cuando piensas que no puedes. Persevera. Inténtalo una vez mas. Si puedes.

Dejar las cosas para mañana en lugar de hacerlas hoy, se está convirtiendo en una tendencia habitual en la vida personal y profesional de la sociedad. Intentamos amasar tanto que no llegamos a abarcar todo. En el proceso, quedan tareas pendientes, amistades o familiares sin atender…pero sobre todo, abandono por el propio Ser – la persona más importante en nuestra vida: NOSOTROS.

Es de suma importancia realizar hoy lo que queremos que sea una inversión para nuestro futuro. ¿Qué necesitamos empezar a HACER hoy para crear un mañana mejor?

As we perform actions in consonance with our principles and values, we become more coherent and happy from within. There is an exponential increase in our self worth & self-confidence. Others start respecting us because we began honoring our inner self.

As Stephen Covey states in his book “The 8th Habit”, we are witness to one of the most sifnificant shifts in human history. One of the greatest management thinkers of our time, Peter Drucker, puts it this way: “In a few hundred years, when the history of our time is written from a long-term perspective, it is likely that the most important event those historians will see is not technology, not the Internet, not e-commerce. It is an unprecedented change in the human condition. For the first time – literally- substantial and rapidly growing numbers of people have choices. For the first time, they will have to manage themselves. And society is totally unprepared for it” (Peter Drucker, Managing Knowledge means managing oneself” Leader to Leader, 16)

More often than not we live in fear of not getting things done. Time passes as quickly as never imagined before. And our desires, expectations and demands keep increasing. We not only forget ourselves but our surroundings, its colors, smells, people. We stop living the present moment and therefore navigate without direction. Turning our attention inwards -Inner-net, not Internet, will allow for creative solutions and ideas to come forth & live the present as a gift.

Having a clear goal in mind can take us away from an infinite road of doubt and despair. Our life is often in the hands of others, when it is our responsibility to become the designers of each decision we make. How did we turn into followers?

Within us lies an infinite power of wisdom still dormant, waiting for us to welcome it in our daily decisions.Unless and only we believe in ourselves and start, we will continue where we are, lagging and dying of boredom and rutine. When we connect with our own self we discover unlimited potential to innovate. Disclosing this truth will increase our self-confidence and emotional intelligence unimaginable ways. The first step makes the next ones easier.

Placing the faith or responsibility in other people is giving the reins of our horse to someone else. The inner warrior needs to come out and fight.

Breaking the comfort zone and entering into a proactive management style, will give us knowledge of the situation, courage and self-esteem never before experienced.

In order to allow ourselves to bring out the leader within us, we need to make few fundamental decisions:

  • Connect with our inner self – quietly listening to our own voice.
  • Asking within for direction before saying yes or no.

Stephen Covey says there is a space between stimulus and response. In that space lies our freedom and power to choose our response. In those choices lie our growth and our happiness. Do not get pressured by other people´s demands. Keep focused upon your objective and the decision you just made.

  • Take to action without doubt will lead to greater awareness.

Let us become our own leaders to shine forth our own innate qualities. In the Japanese miracle, the culture of the samurai and the spirit of bushido have a tradition of practicing human values that helps a Japanese rise far above self-interest.

Samurai is the word used to refer to a Japanese warrior who adopted a lifestyle that lauded bravery, honor and loyalty to one´s shogun (lord) as more important than life itself. A samurai was trained in, among other skills, developing tenacious will power by fasting and running barefoot on snow. It helped to instill in him the spirit of bushido – “way of the warrior”.

The overall training of a samurai was twofold – the pen and the sword. This meant “leadership and arts plus swordmanship and strategy.”

As we perform actions in consonance with our principles and values, we become more coherent and happy from within. There is an exponentialincrease in our self worth & self-confidence. Others start respecting us because we began honoring our inner self.
